Jeez, I can understand maybe they have a year or two, but six years in Texas schools and your kids will be six years ahead of Louisiana kids.

My kids are in private school baw. Paying tuition sucks but their school test scores are in line with schools like the Woodlands in TX

So, what you're saying is it wouldn't matter if you moved? Kids adapt easily and you'll pocket that private school money. Having to put your children in private school because of bad area schooling is not actually brag-able. Congrats though?

Right but you had to pay for that on top of all your taxes. The point is in Texas, our taxes actually do shite for us. Roads are constantly upgraded and maintained and the public school system is fantastic. Culcha isn't really a problem at least in Dallas.

I live in Lower Greenville and I couldn't tell you where the nearest strip mall is that holds an actual business I'd ever actually go to.

Like 2 blocks over in Lakewood by the whole foods

I live by park lane and it's a strip mall by definition but is nice. I don't get the hate for them. There's a cool bar, the whole foods has a bar, there's a cool bowling alley there, and of course stores. It's not like there aren't strip malls all over Louisiana too.

Not best in the country, but much better than most in the south and especially Louisiana.

Texas has a Spanish/Mexican culture. Other than that it is a plain boring State.

exactly

I pay high property taxes but I don't have to pay for private school like i would in Louisiana (and added is no state income tax like LA).

If you live in a nice burb your kid will be zoned (yeah we don't bus kids across the damn city) to a very good neighborhood school.

Lol what?

A. How can you even generalize a state as massive as Texas into one culture?

B. Have you even been to Texas? DFW for one has a rich cowboy/ranch culture. It's much more country American than Mexican or Spanish.

Property taxes can be deducted too.

Bingo. And you will know what ISD you're in when you're looking at houses to buy.

Apparently if you are from Texas you can drive in the left hand lane all the time, everyday.

Well all the burbs run together so they kinda are now. You can drive up 75 or the tollway to 380 and not know you drove through 4-5 cities. Dallas, Richardson, Plano, Allen, Addison, Frisco, McKinney all kinda run together.

But my point was that Dallas is much safer than places in Louisiana.
