The systems at work are so so massive, that you’d have to have an entire fleet of planes making constant drops to even have a minuscule effect, and who knows if that will do anything anyway.

Loving the thought of President Camacho trying to dissipate a hurricane by nuking it, only to irradiate the storm and giving the gulf coast a nice dose of ionizing radiation

I don’t remember the article, but I believe some University professor had a small scale test that worked really well with these tubes that would be placed in the ocean. As the hurricanes travel across the Atlantic, the water would flow through the tubes and somehow come out the other end about 30 degrees cooler or something. No idea what the method is or how feasible it would be to put those all over the ocean, but he said it could have an effect of reducing a category 4 storm to a category 1 which is quite impressive.

I like how they have anonymous sources, yet in the article they type:

as if they are quoting him directly.
