She was a pretty girl who was a news anchor in Iowa
A black truck had been following her several times
John Vansice was an older friend who admitted to seeing her last and displayed stalker qualities like her birthday party which was hosted by “John and friends”
She was called why she didn’t show up to work at 4 am and supposedly answered saying I overslept but will be there soon
She never showed up. Her makeup and purse were found outside her car with a bent key.
A few people heard screams and a car speed away.
She’s never been found.

Takes 2 seconds to Google it baw. But I remember this case and off the top of my head:
She was a TV anchor somewhere in midwest (Iowa I think) in the 1990's. She did the local morning news show. One day she didn't show up for work and she's never been seen again. I believe there was signs of a struggle outside her apartment and police suspect she was nabbed as she got in her car early in the morning to go to work. She was single, but I believe had a BF (who was later ruled out). Police looked at all her BF's of the past and her family and could find no suspects.
IIRC, she had a stalker who called into the TV station routinely wanting to talk to her. She brushed it off as a sort of harmless fan. Whoever this stalker is has become the prime suspect. I don't remember if Police ever identified him or not.
I heard about it way back in the day because it was featured on Unsolved Mysteries.
BTW, if you have Amazon Prime, you can watch all the old UM episodes (great show, btw). There's plenty of old UM cases that deserve their own thread. The Orange socks murder case is a good one that people love to discuss.

Mason City, Iowa. 15 miles from my in laws. She is still talked about today in the region.
Mason City is the real life River City in the Music Man. The composer was from there.
It was also near the site of Buddy Holly's last show and subsequent plane crash.
