The wage gap takes all professions across the board and puts them in the same category. Just because, on average, women typically choose careers that pay less than the careers that men chose doesn't mean there is a problem with how they are paid.

Well there is a problem of how they are paid and what opportunities are available to them.

And simply because women choose certain fields doesn't mean you stop there. Many women feel uncomfortable in male dominated fields and are subject to harassment, some companies don't even attempt to recruit women. There are societal pressures and expectations and careers where women are encouraged or discouraged to join. Same goes for men, take elementary education or up until recently nursing. That's all part of the wage gap, simply because it's across all fields (even if you think women choose those fields) doesn't mean it gets dismissed as a myth.

So the 3-5% difference that you say exists should be regulated by the government? That usually goes well.

ETA - that's a rounding error in a salary. The difference between getting a raise and not for a year

That's a completely separate rabbit hole I'd rather not even get into.

What is that supposed to mean?

I still haven't seen a legitimate argument from you. Can you show a single incident where a man and a women with equal education and experience are paid different wages at the same company?

Of course you can't. And if such a case existed, that company would get slammed and would have caved by now.

And why are all my arguments illegitimate, are you suggesting that women don't face harassment in male dominated fields? That there aren't societal pressures where women are encouraged or discouraged from certain fields?

There's not a single case where men and women are paid differently? Good god, you people are delusional.

A single case? I'm sure we could find several. Systemic? Probably not.

Well first off the wage gap isn't real so let's just put that to the side.

Do you think some middle manager is going to have the complete authority to hire only men? or only women? or a mix of both? That comes from the superiors, and in this scenario the superiors would be women. Because they obviously will work for less right?

quote:

It doesn't make any god damn sense

Really it doesn't make sense? Why do most companies outsource labor and manufacturing to china? If women were willing to work for 71 cents blah blah upper management would 100% tell them to hire women only

what kind of dream world are you living in son?

Okay, so you're a moron.

This is the problem with arguing with idiots. They don't even understand the counter argument and then make irrelevant and illogical rebuttals.

You literally came up with a scenario and said BOOM I'm right you are wrong.

You didn't give me any proof of said wage gap, I didn't give you proof it doesn't exist, so how is my statement moronic and yours isn't?

Show me proof there is a wage gap and we can agree. All I'm hearing from your end is "morons" "idiots" "illogical"
Very SJW of you. Are you going to call me a racist bigot homophobe next?

Let's say a dude identifies as a woman. For that person to go into the men's room might be like, if a woman would go in the men's room. They probably wouldn't feel very comfortable. Either way, is there really anything to see in a woman's bathroom? They are in a stall, and it isn't like they take off all their clothes to go to the bathroom. In the men's room, if you are at a stall and a dude is right on side of you, you have to look to see his dick. Its not like the restroom is a place people go in and spend a lot of time in.. So that aspect of it is made into a bigger deal than it is

Why are some people more concerned how uncomfortable the him/her are than the real women are with them in there? I agree with the last point it's not a big deal so just have people with a penis in the men's bathroom and people with a vagina in the women's.

Show me one? And as I said, if there is one, that company would get slammed and the problem would be corrected.

But I still want you to show me a legitimate case of this happening. Not just laugh and say I'm delusional. Let's see what you've got. I've never seen one, I've seen the left claim it happens, but I've never seen proof. Typical of the left.

Because you're a fricking idiot who keeps suggesting that if the wage gap were real a company would just hire women at 71% of what they could hire a man at. But that 71% is all across all fricking career fields.

How are you an your upvote lackeys not understanding this? It's not even complicated.

And the irony of it is people who agree with you keep citing the fact that the 70% is across all occupations which is why it isn't real..

It's pathetic how blind you are to the stupidity of it all.

You aren't providing any factual evidence. You keep repeating things that don't support your argument then call people stupid.

So you compare your paycheck with others? A man with the same job as you, same amount of time with company, works the same amount of hours, has shown you his pay stub and it's higher?

Because for at least this point in question we are agreeing in the same set of facts. Yes, (depending on how you frame the debate) when people discuss the wage and cite seventy some odd cents on the dollar they are citing it across all fields. Which is why his stupid hypothetical doesn't make sense. Because a company can't hire women at 71% the pay at a man, it's not as if Exxon has an open position and instead of hiring a male mechanical engineer decides to hire a female day care worker instead.

That doesn't make any fricking sense.

It's like when a darker skinned person gets fired and claims they were discrimated against and did not receive equal pay. Come to find out, they were the highest paid at their position.
