Man last night and today were great. Our family does the 4th at my parents' house because they have a pool and live right near the river. My two siblings and I always stay over the night of the 3rd to help cook and get the house ready. Last night, we were making pimento cheese and boiling peanuts for today with the Braves game on in the background. Reminds me of my childhood and makes me smile just thinking about it.
Look at you Mr. "I have a stable nuclear family without valid restraining orders" lording it over the rest of us.

We take trips with my mother in law and my parents fairly often and all have fun.

I’m thankful that all branches of my family get along well and enjoy each other’s company.
It’s not always about what you want to do, when you want to do it. Sometimes it’s about doing something for others. Thankfully my family pretty much has this philosophy. Someone always offers to help out in his or her own way.
We currently have my parents, cousins, sister, nieces, a whole branch of in laws, spouses, kids, siblings. It’s all hugs, kisses, handshakes, pats on backs, laughing, talking.
I’m blessed. Thank you God.

Did a big family vacation at the beach last year. Left a day early because I could not take it anymore.

Vacation with parents? How old are you?

I don't really like vacationing with anyone besides my SO. People just live differently, and all of it clashes on vacation. Vacationing with people who have a different sleep schedule or food preferences means someone is stuck uncomfortable the entire time.

Spot on LL. If I am vacationing, it isn't with family.

I have no idea if I do or don't like vacationing with family because the last time I did it was 10 years ago, but I definitely didn't like the 1 trip we did with another couple.
They live an entirely different lifestyle than us and we are pushovers so we were basically the ones put out the entire time.

I just make sure we get a big house/condo with our own space.

I hate going on vacation with my brother-in-law because he stays drunk and he’s a VERY loud drunk. It’s more stressful than relaxing and my wife and send most of the vacation coming up with excuses to not hangout with everyone else. I enjoy being around my family on vacation but I know my wife is uncomfortable with how close we are (her family is not close, at all), as we like to cut up, rag on each other, and we have a lot of inside jokes. I will say, though, the past few years we’ve rented a house close by to where my parents rent one for the family... I love my nieces and nephews, but they are wild kids and it’s nice being able to get away to our own space.
