I love spending time with them but good god I can’t stand spending more than 1-2 nights with my parents anymore whether on vacation or just visiting. It is getting to the point where I would rather not seen them but I know I will feel some type of regret later (or at least think I might).

Not sure why I even bother going on vacation anymore because it is not desirable nor enjoyable. The only saving grace is they leave tomorrow and I have Thursday-Sunday left.

We once went on vacation with both sets of parents. The ground rule was we each (couple) did whatever we wanted during the day and could eat together somewhere in the evening. Worked out well.

Love vacationing with my wife and kids. We do what we want, whenever we want to do it. Her mother is lazy and indecisive and complains about everything, so yes, I hate vacationing with her family

Man last night and today were great. Our family does the 4th at my parents' house because they have a pool and live right near the river. My two siblings and I always stay over the night of the 3rd to help cook and get the house ready. Last night, we were making pimento cheese and boiling peanuts for today with the Braves game on in the background. Reminds me of my childhood and makes me smile just thinking about it.

Let's hear a little more as to why.

Cite some examples.

That is what I enjoy. It is my parents I can’t stand.

Luckily my mother and father in law are very antisocial.

And my parents are poor.

So we don’t have to vacation with any of them. My sister and brother in law and their kid are awesome though so vacationing with them wouldn’t be horrible.

I've never been on a vacation with my parents or my wife's parents after I've been out of the house and married.

I know your pain. My ex-in-laws were the worse. They would want everyone to chip in on one big house in Destin. There was no way in hell I was sleeping under the same roof as those nut jobs. Even then, it was difficult. Constant bickering, guys getting shite faced every night while the kids begged them to play, wife drama, etc. To top it off, they never wanted to go to the beach. They’d rather shop, or bowl, or go eat. Seemed silly to spend thousands to do what we could do back home

Have never vacationed with my parents or siblings since I've been an adult. Vacationed exactly twice with my inlaws and that was more than 18 years ago and won't happen ever again that I can foresee.
