There isn't much less interesting or irrelevant than this topic.

Google explanation

Funny how they always seem to have one of those explanation thingies at the ready.

How much you want to bet they don't miss Kwanzaa or some obscure Muslim holiday, or remembrance of some other random human they want to celebrate?

i can see their point about not wanting a silly doodle on a day for remembering but they could have done something like bing

Didn't you read the article? The LEAST they could was put a ribbon up.

Usually, people just want be outraged, but I'm afraid it's much worse than that.

Seems like you are the one with the agenda.

They have a doodle for Veterans Day. They have a doodle for the Fourth of July and for Flag Day.

After a quick google search(how ironic!!! lol, haha) I came up with this:

quote: Google has long stated that, “We try to be sensitive that a doodle is not the most appropriate way to recognize certain events, especially those that are more somber in nature.” Commemorating the deaths of hundreds of thousands of fallen servicemen would seem to fall into that category.

makes sense. I support this move given the reasoning

You're on to something, their agenda is obviously against the fallen soldiers.

This disgusts me!!!

They only care about the living soldiers (because pictures mean more than actions).

Disgusting.

The fact that this happens so regular with Google demonstrates a pattern with them. This isn't just another oopsie, or excusable action. It is a consistent pattern that shows what kind of mindset makes up google.

you got to admit it is kind of odd. google is decorated almost everyday for many extremely random and unheard of events. not doing anything for memorial day seems to be much more than an omission

Google is a worldwide corporation, not just a US one so I actually don't find it THAT odd but it would have been nice if they at least changed it for people using a US based IP.
