If that's per what you've read in magazines, you've interpreted wrong. Most describe the Nissan as the best tool, but an all around numb experience - it does the work for you and makes it easy to run fast. Cars like the Viper have to actually be driven, they didn't even come with electronic stability control until the redesign in 2012.

Depends.
Some AWD systems allow the car to function as RWD and only kick in to AWD when you're on the track or when the system detects slippage in the rear.

Put enough power to them the get pretty fun as the front clutches can handle 300 whp max.

A Corvette, loaded all up, is around $120K.
Ferraris go from $200- $500K, roughly.

American cars are not really considered exotic in the way you are using the word here. In terms of performance, certainly the Corvette will come close to the Ferrari, if not outright beat it on some specifications.
People that spend $200K don't want to see their same car everywhere they go. Also, Ferrari interior materials will be several notches above Corvette (although the Vette has gotten way better with the C6 and C7).
The Ferrari marque also has long been only a performance brand where the Corvette is considered a very fast Chevrolet, if you follow me.

Last I heard, Ferrari was still running mag ride, developed by GM's Delphi unit.

Ferrari also limits production on purpose and try to manipulate the used market prices for their cars. They are the De Beers of the auto industry.

Plus what the other guy said. Ferrari does one thing...builds precision performance vehicles. Their pedigree is winning Formula 1 consistently for 50 years.
Don't get me wrong, the new Corvette is a joy to drive. But if I were a billionaire, I would have a stable of Ferrari makes and models from different years. 1965 GTO 250, 1973 Dino, mid 70's Berlinetta Boxer, F40, etc.
(But I'd also have a Ford GT, and would get the new one with the V6.)
And a 67 big block Vette, convertible with a 4 speed, an early 70's Pantera...

Anyone remember the cheesy tv show from the early 90s called Viper? It was sorta like Knight Rider but the car didn't talk.
