Damn, that must've happened quick. I thought they were dominating as late as last year.

Yep. Didn't they discontinue it before. A couple years it seems.

I know Corvette won LeMans in 2015, 2016 won Daytona and won Sebring the last 3 years in a row.

It was a dodge, is this somehow a surprise?

I've had a couple higher end sports cars but was never really attracted. Never thought that v10 sounded all that great and I can' get passed the super long ambiguously gay duo hood on those cars. I like to sit closer to the front axle and not even see much of the hood.

The only available edition of that car has been the Trailer Park Special for a while now.

Brand new Viper in 2013 was outrun by old bodystyle Corvette ZR1

To be fair, the old body style ZR1 outran almost everything. Though I think the Viper ACR is quicker than it on a track...maybe even the Viper TA and TA 2.0

That is one beautiful car, but it had some serious performance issues for the price. It couldn't hang with Corvettes or Ford GTs on a track, so they put this huge rear spoiler on it to create downforce. But the spoiler was so big that it slowed down the top speed on the straights.

LOL

This is not even close to correct.

In all honesty, the car needed traction control... I get they were trying to make it a "driver's car"... but in reality, with that much HP-weight ratio, and being solely RWD, it's a bit much for a lot of people

This isn't correct either. 2013+ Vipers have traction control as mandated by the federal government.

There was not a factory sponsored Viper team, and possibly not a Viper at all, in any of those races. The Viper factory team raced the TUDOR series with the new Viper for 2013 and 2014. They actually won the driver and team championship in 2014 and then Chrysler pulled the plug on the racing program.

Most Corvettes are autos, by like 2:1 vs manual IIRC.

In 2016 only 23% of corvettes sold had manual transmissions.
