Your image of teens that listen to rap. Unless they are fat OL/DL, they need some swag to open their hips up and run.

You raise yours, I'll raise mine...it is the greatest challenge and blessing...best wishes.

Got it....what can I say, I am my father's son who never left Gretna and still drops the N-Bomb today....I have come along way but I apparently not far enough to promote rap music to my 3 daughters.

Your daughters will love rap music. Trust me on this. Hope grandpa is ready for when they start dating the wide receivers on the football team.

No, thank goodness.
I miss Soul music.

I only let my kids listen to Gregorian chants.

If you take a hardline stance against it, they won't listen to anything else

My daughter, age 18 (no pics), bought the following CD's the other day...Fleetwood Mac greatest hits, Eric Clapton greatest hits, and Journey Greatest hits. The radio in her car is usually on classic rock or pop. If she does she is sly about it. And if she does I do not care...Summa Cum Laude, 21rst out of a class of over 350. She can listen to whatever she wants.
My 15 year old son does a little. Maybe that is where he gets that "F" the power mentality.

Call me old school, but they can do whatever da Fuk they want when not living under my roof.

Lmao, what does this even mean?
What is hilarious about what you just said is that we are talking about (mostly) white kids listening to hip-hop... That music is probably as FAR away from "who his kids are" as can be. All of you listening to guys yapping about pimping, drug dealing, clubbing, and baby mamas are the ones who are not in touch with who you really are.

I can see taking that stance with doing illegal or dangerous things or even disrespecting you by not picking up after themselves or being disruptive by keeping people up at night. I don't get it with entertainment. It's like you are trying to be the thought police. I don't see how liking something that you think is distasteful is some great line in the sand my house my rules moment. Outside of trying to keep me from seeing stuff before I was ready when I was really young, I couldn't see my parents outlawing entertainment. By the time I was a teenager, I was encouraged to develop my own ideas about things. Part of growing up is becoming your own person. It's going to happen despite any kind of iron grip you try to keep on it. My parents would tell me if they thought something was bad, but they wouldn't forbid it. "If you want to guarantee that your children do something, forbid it." That's what my Father said.
Anyway, I'm not telling you how to raise your kids. That's just how I see it.

You and my grandparents would be best friends.
Old ppl are open about being racist on both sides. Different times they grew up in though.

Nothing racist about disliking rap

I'd be more pissed if my kids were into jam bands.
If they were into bro country I'd be seriously concerned about their intelligence.

Using the n-word, in a derogatory manner, does.

What's a derogatory manner? Just using it? Or white people using it?
I believe the poster was referring to his father.

I never said that.
You always come in and take stuff out of context. Read up please.
I love rap. Was talking about another poster saying **** and not letting his children listen to rap.
