Very rarely I will wash my Levi's if I'm around a whole bunch of smoke somewhere or if I need to wash off the stripper glitter

We will just have to agree to disagree on the washing. That said, I only wash my jeans when they are visibly dirty or smell bad.

I’m sure we can agree that jeans should never be put in the drier.

Popular sentiment amongst the homeless.

Your wife is correct. Clean your dirty arse clothes.

premium blue jean

That's an oxymoron isn't it?

Denim, by definiton, isn't "premium". You may pay alot for it, but it's still denim. It isn't "premium" in the sense that if you are going out and want to dress nice, you don't (or shouldn't) throw on your "premium" denim.

Would be sort of like pulling your your "nice" fishing shirt.

Spandex isn't denim.

I have jeans like this too, but that isn't the best denim.

Friend, the only jeans a female should wear that doesn’t contain spandex are trouser cut. I venture to say the same for me.

Saggy arse isn’t flattering on anyone despite the quality of denim.

I got some of these and the lady who tailored them for me in the store told me to go home, soak them in cold water, and put them on until they dried. Essentially creating a mold of my body/legs. Then don't wash them for a very long time and when you do, in cool water by hand with safe detergents.

Worked really well, but I had some dye on my legs for a while and man, was that uncomfortable for a while Things are thick and rigid at first. Started to feel amazing probably after 10+ wears and now they are my favorite piece of clothing.

I am not arguing any of this (nor could I).

Not exactly. Dressing nice depends on where you are. Premium describes the quality of fabric, weave and cut.

If you work in your jeans, you wash your freaking jeans.

Also...that was the whole point of the old school 501s (shrink to fit), back in the day.

Nice jeans there. I’m sure your legs were blue for a while after that

I’m so over skinny jeans but that’s the method I always used for mine. Except, after they dried on me I wore them for about 3 days then took them for tailoring.

The proper way to wash them is by hand. And rarely.

Who is to say what is proper? The jean manufacturer? The jean cartel? You?

They are mine jeans I paid for them, so I will do what I see fit.

I was well aware of what they say about washing jeans before thread and other ones that have been posted through the years.

I work in jeans mostly so I do wash them every time I wear them. In the winter my non work jeans will get washed every few times I where them unless they get dirty.

As far as washing them by hand and all that other bullshite, I don't have time for that. They go in the washer and then in the dryer.

All of that is fine for your average $70 pair of blue jeans.

I wonder if anyone here would wear the original style and make of Levis jeans. apparently they were thick as hell and heavy. Not even sure if Levis makes any the same thickness and way they did back in 1900.

When paying for more expensive jeans, you are expecting to get a more tailored fit and for them to stay looking new with that same fit for 10+ years.
