Justified evil? I can live with that. I'm not gonna trash BHO for using the word evil. shite it was a pretty frickin evil device, there is no doubts about that. Did the end justify the means? Absolutely.

Really depends on the narrative presented. Many hospitals believe that when Russia declared war on Japan they were weeks away from surrender. And many argue that using the nukes were more of a display of power to Russia.
The fact is that the fire bombs of Tokyo did more damage and killed more than the nukes.

It was the right thing, but that doesn't mean it wasn't evil. It was the lesser of evils. War isn't pretty or nice.

Each participant in war puts their balls on the table....the participants with the best weaponry wins
They were given multiple advisories and warnings to stop....they elected to leave their balls on the table in an act of defiance and aggression
The USA flattened those balls on the table because we had the best weapons and the bigger balls to use them

Since the US goaded Japan into attacking the US and FDR let it happen it's one of the worst acts of terrorism I've ever seen. Of course given the US is the biggest state sponsored terrorist organization in the world given it's history I'm not shocked you simpletons would scream 'MERICA frick YEAH
what a pussy. The fact that you say this and continue to live here shows your MONUMENTAL hypocrisy. Get up and fricking leave, nothing's stopping you. Go join the fricking peace corps.
that's to tjgator

They attacked Pearl Harbor, we could ram a nuke up their arse every Dec 7th and I wouldn't give a shite.

Look at Japan then and Japan now. I don't think anything short of an atomic bomb would have shaken the Japanese out of their brainwashed imperialism. Tens of millions led to believe their Emperor was an actual god. It was a necessary evil. I don't think Japan would have modernized without pressing the reset button.

If you don't like this country you can wade back across the Rio Grande and go back to where you came from.

The firebombing of Tokyo killed more people and did more damage than both nukes.

The bomb also saved Japanese lives.

Yep. Japan was by far the most brutal society in the world at the time, and now they're one of the most advanced and brilliant societies.

Just die already. Preferably in a fire of some sort.
I swear, I don't even feel bad about wishing that on people like you.

It was terrible but Japan brought it on themselves

No, it was a necessity to save American lives.
Not just American lives. Japan was ravaging multiple countries in despicable ways.
I wish we'd have left them to be a third world countries instead of giving them trillions upon trillions of our tax dollars.

No Legend of Zelda though, so clearly it was worth rebuilding them just for that.

Yes, it would have been less evil to lose a million troops taking Japan and destroying every single village along the way because of the collateral damage.
Obama proves that if he had been president during WW2, he does not have the stomach to win and in fact would have bow to our german overlords.
