Your analysis is missing the fact that we printed trillions of dollars in new currency. You can’t just unprint that.
The government severely devalued our currency. The only way for that currency to regain its lost value is large economic growth paired with very limited printing of new currency. That process, if even possible with our government, will take a long, long time.

A lot of prices were always going to be "sticky" because that's just how American economics works. And once the Biden administration passed those two massive spending bills, one of them laughably entitled the "Inflation Reduction Act", we were cooked. We might be able to put a few of those genies back in the bottle but not most of them. We're just going to have to learn to recalibrate our budgets and lifestyles.
