I use it and it works well for me. People that hate it probably have terrible "friends"

Yes, sort of. I deleted my primary one and created a new one just to be active in Fantasy Sports league groups

I have zero friends and have no timeline. It’s just for me to talk shite about fantasy sports

Yeah, it would have minimal impact on my life if I deleted it. These people who consider it a life altering event had to have been heavily invested into it and that's probably the root of their frustrations.

The main reason I keep my Facebook account is I have a group of about 40 HS baws that we sometimes BS about things. And I belong to a closed group that has to do with my profession.

Right? People acting like deleting Facebook is akin to throwing off the chains of bondage. I don’t get it either.

Deleted mine sophomore year of college so 4 or 5 years ago. Missed it for a week, not having anything to check in on every 5 secs. I actually found tRant, and TD, because I went looking for other social media websites, where I could find news, and have conversations, but I didn’t want the world to know it was me publicly. So this site is perfect for me, and frick Facebook. I’ve seen far too many people ruin friendships, jobs, and their lives through shite like Facebook. People arnt the same behind a computer, vs in-person, one valueable thing I learned from having a Facebook back in the day.

I don't put personal data on any social media so I'm still good with FB.

I like Facebook. Use it mostly just to talk sports and keep up with friends/family I rarely see. Throw in the occasional political debate and I'm fine with the platform.

I honestly just assume anything I put online in any capacity will be mined by some entity at some point for whatever purpose.

I was a teenager. And everyone my age was checking their facebook all the time. It was pretty normal.

That’s exactly my point, and why I don’t miss Facebook or give a shite about it.

I can relate. FB is a good way to keep up with friends and family. I enjoy seeing pictures from events/concerts/family functions/friend gatherings I couldn’t attend. It has also been a great way to promote my business. It works for me. I can see how it wouldn’t work for some people though.

This. I post like 2 times a year but frequently check out what my family I hardly see is up to. Its a perfectly fine network that lets you keep up with the times.

Yes..

I'm cool with Facebook..
I post pictures and hilarious thoughts.
I guess it's cool to hate, but it's a free social network.. keep in touch with old friends and family..

I don't Twitter or Instagram.. because I don't want to follow people..

You either like or ignore what I post.. and I just live my life.
Do some of my friends and family post dumb shite? Always. But I let them live their lives..

And yes, one of my old high school friends is one of the most hated on this board.. but she can post what she wants and I mostly ignore it.. most of y'all would be better off doing the same.

I still use and like FB. I don't use it as a political platform or to peddle shite. I just scroll and ignore those types of posts on my wall.

I didn’t let it run my life, but that’s not to say it wasn’t a big part of my life. I joined when I was a sophomore(?) in high school in 2006, so for the last 12-13 years all of my photos, significant events, etc. were located on that site. After a while it just became routine to open the app and scroll through it when I was bored.

Essentially, what I mean by my original statement is, after 12-13 years of habitual use I downloaded my photos and deleted it, so I’m not looking at my phone everytime I’m waiting on something or sitting around bored.

It was like quitting smoking, which I also started about 10 years ago. Quit cold turkey about 115 days ago and haven’t looked back. Maybe that’s where the “incredible” feeling is coming from
