How does the church know who’s giving what?

Envelopes with the parishioner’s name on it or electronic giving (which I personally prefer).

It's like having a kid in college for 13-14 years and when they are done you still get to pay for that too

If you're paying for college AFTER you pay for a private school education, you got fleeced.

These threads are kinda dumb.

So much variety in school districts, family financial situations, values, and such. Any sort of blanket statement about private vs public schools is silly.

Just from personal experience with me and my daughter private schools usually do give a child a leg up. But I'm not sure if it's the actual school or the willingness of the parents to give extra so home life for the private school kids is also different.

People think that private schools are some sort of utopia because they deal with people who can afford it, but they still have plenty of their own issues. They just have different sorts of issues because they deal with people with privilege.

After my kids going to public magnet schools we moved to private for a couple reasons. The biggest difference I see is the lack of homework we now have. I am not sure I have noticed any difference other than that. The prior curriculum seems more difficult on the surface, with seemingly more interactive and collaborative work at the private.

I think we pay about 7k per year? I think public spends about 10k on each student per year, so most privates need additional funding above and beyond tuition.

$28k/yr for all-year daycare for a toddler. #2 on the way will make it $56k/yr for two in daycare. This is a DC suburb in not the nicest or most affluent area.

I didn't raise my daughter here but it's not that bad in Loudon county which is the richest county in the US.

"You said Louisiana"

I said I live in a small town in Louisiana, which is a fact. But I live one mile from Natchez, MS.
Sorry for the confusion.

A lot of folks who bash private schools are turning around and paying for travel ball as stated above.

I wonder which one at the end of the childs first 18 years bears more fruit on average.

We know of someone whose only child attended the POSHest most expensive private school in Knoxville all twelve years. 20k a year plus or minus.

Kid ended up at Community College, roomed off campus with a young man of questionable activities, and was shot dead by accident by thugs who came to the house to see his roommate.

An atypical American tragedy.
