Very much like my job.
I train new homeowners property adjusters for major insurance company. Been with same company 27 years and a trainer 11 years. Zero stress. I no longer manage people. Just train newbies. Make just enough

I have also learned that Mississippi is the most business friendly state around, far better than Texas or Florida. It has to be due lack of critical resources.
Recently scored a big Copper-related project near Columbus,MS because they were reportedly very nimble and imaginative.

Lotsa decent jobs with spin-offs, unfortunately near Moo State.

All permits within 30 days is huge. It was the president of a chemical company based in Mississippi who really talked Mississippi up. The have two small plants. He credits it all to Phil Bryant's work to make it business friendly.

Heck, I like the Delta area too. Interesting how supposedly racists have farmers, black and white, sitting at country cafes getting their coffee together at the same table in mid morning.

Everyone one in Clarksdale was friendly as could be too, and by their manner of speech, literate unlike the Gravy Chambers types her in BR.

I'm good at it. A lot of details and relationships.

There was a study done decades ago that clarified that the key determiner to happiness was your ability to control your own activity on the job. This was true whether you work the front desk at a La Quinta, or if you do Information Security Consulting for the federal government.

Your job doesn't suck, your boss sucks. Stop working at "jobs" and work for people you believe in.

Meanwhile, I've been crashing the Exchange server escalating travel approvals to fly to Australia (I was supposed to leave today, but had to reschedule to Friday due to INTERNAL approval issues.)

For a client meeting, it takes over a week to get a confirmation number. You could work here.

Yes. Environmental Scientist for an engineering company. Lots of water sampling. I definitely like it so far. Currently paid to be in Hawaii for a month to sample groundwater. Pay is not bad, that federal rate per diem is where it's at baw.

Find what you love to do. Not just like doing. LOVE doing. Find out how to make money at it. Contact people doing it. Don't be afraid to ask for help.

Love what I do. Just turned 60 and can't even think about retiring before 70. My job requires some physical ability, so as long as am healthy and my eyesight doesn't go to shite, then I see no reason to stop.
