We typically fire up some guitar hero or rock band at every gathering. Everyone plays.

I'd say the women have a salary of 50-130k and then guys having 60-90k... A few of us well over 100 with investments.

Even the one guy who's actually in a band is a teacher and coach as well. So he's doing alright.

As for your comment...

[img]I just think a man who plays video games all the time could never be a real man.

I think someone who allows any hobby to interfere with being a productive adult needs to re-evaluate there priorities but saying an adult who plays video games does not deserve respect is frankly weird. Thats like saying I dont respect a man who likes to fish, hunt, bowl, watch sports or any other free time waster.

I tend to respect people who do the things they are supposed to do. You take care of your family and put them first, do the best you can at your career/job to make ends meet and treat people with respect then I will respect that person.

As long as that person isn't abusive/neglecting their family I couldn't care what they do on their free time.

Want to have a cold one after work...Total respect. Come home ever day get drunk and abusive to your family...no respect.

Want to game in the afternoon on your free time...total respect. Spend money that SHOULD go to your family or spend your time neglecting your family to play games...no respect.

Gaming is just a form of entertainment. Nothing wrong with it as long as it isn't abusive (like every other form of entertainment).

I agree. We all need an outlet. Life needs to have fun and entertainment. Tigerdroppings provides that outlet for me. I would rather play video games than have someone addicted to drugs, sex , crime or gambling.

This is like the 3rd time Ive seen you express that you do not like video games. I guess watching TV is better? Why does this hurt you so much? Did Billy Bob spend the lot fee on a new game or something?

Regardless I make my living on video games so I hope you all buy and play them. A lot.

Define "all the time". Like, instead of doing other necessary things, shirking responsibilities, etc, or just plays games instead of other leisure things like watching tv or posting on the Internet?

I work 50-60 hours a week, support my wife and kids with everything they need. If I want to play a little Madden or kill bitches on COD when I get some down time, that's my business. You don't pay my bills, I couldn't care less if you "respect" me.

You're a grown man on a message board right now talking to strangers, playing a video game is barely a step from where you are currently, but you have such a strong opinion about one and not the other.

Odd...

Just curious, but how is watching football all day on Saturday and Sunday any different from someone who plays video games?

Personally I would rather watch football all weekend, but either one, you're staring at a screen getting nothing accomplished.

To each their own. Whatever makes them happy. For him, golfing might look ridiculous.
