. Was it Christian values that facilitated slavery in the USA? Why did it take many years and a devastating war to end a horrible practice if all these great values have been ingrained in the country since its inception?
It was evangelicals who fueled the abolitionist movement.

Some historical accounts have been verified.
Others don't hold muster, such as Exodus. There is no archeological evidence that such an event could have occurred in the area and timeframe described in the scripture.
Or the "great flood".

Things that are never wrong:
K-9 dogs
Carbon dating
DNA evidence
Lie Detector tests
Completely unfallible...

Alright let's play. Azure is still kinda fricked anyway.
What was the strawman you heroically torched? Be specific and use citations where needed.

If everything is based on so-called Christian values to the extent that we should all get on our knees and be thankful for it, then why wasn’t slavery abolished from the start? And why did I take another 100 years for equal rights?
Sounds more like the simple evolution of society to me.

Nope...follow the word or dont. But calling true followers "staunch" is dumb

It can be annoying as all get out to do the circular logic dance with super religious people. Having said that, I'd rather do that dance than try and talk common sense with some PhD who is a Marxist.
I've found that the communist left are much less tolerant of different viewpoints than most hard-core Baptist who think the earth is only 5000 years old.

Yeah some people don’t think dinosaurs ever existed because the world was only created a few thousand years ago…
