Others don't hold muster, such as Exodus. There is no archeological evidence that such an event could have occurred in the area and timeframe described in the scripture.

If everything is based on so-called Christian values to the extent that we should all get on our knees and be thankful for it, then why wasn’t slavery abolished from the start? And why did I take another 100 years for equal rights?

It can be annoying as all get out to do the circular logic dance with super religious people. Having said that, I'd rather do that dance than try and talk common sense with some PhD who is a Marxist.

I've found that the communist left are much less tolerant of different viewpoints than most hard-core Baptist who think the earth is only 5000 years old.
