In consulting, everyone does it. It's weird not to drink at least once a week with your coworkers on travel assignments.

All the time. Have no issues with it. We all get a little out of hand and nobody takes it to heart most times. We all know the industry and the people in it, no sense in pretending were angels.

Hell we got an open bar at the last Christmas Party only a year after the CEO got punched in the face by a field hand.

Eta. Most of the office nerds do not partake with the enthusiasm of the field hands

I have been absolutely wrecked and on the verge of vomiting in front of my co-workers.

One of my coworkers husbands got sent to the ER at one Christmas party and our CEO made fun of him at the next one

The times have changed- back in the 80's my office industry was male dominated and drinking/weed
was common at break or lunch, some even took it a step further with coke. Amazing how we were able to function sometimes on the phone being high. But, like I said, that was the 80's and since that time my occupation became more woman oriented, so things changed. By the time I retired this year, the men coming in were all half gay or soy and the women were all sensitive or looking for anything to 'report' you on, so in other words, early retirement was a necessity for me. Sensitive, young soys are killing fun!
