Drove back from Texarkana to South GA straight a couple of weeks ago which took about 13 hours. I did everything short of baiting to keep me focused. That is a long drive alone especially when you drove there two days before. The stretch from Memphis to Birmingham on I-22/78 is mind numbing after I have driven it 12 times in the past 6 months. I even listened to Finebaum for the duration of his show because apparently that is the only thing they play on the radio station in that part of Alabama.

The Finebaum part. When I lived in Knoxville, I would ride in silence through the state of Alabama so that I didn't have to listen to him. Either that or I would dust off a Bob Seger CD and crank that up loud!

Used to do something similar as a kid. I'd do it when passing an adjoining road usually.

YES!! I thought it was just a weird habit I had. I'll do it for driveways too. For me, I touch my tongue to the top of my mouth every time I pass the lines on both sides of the adjoining road or driveway. I don't even know why I do it. It's odd and almost subconscious.
