I have my secretary print them out to read aloud and archive for later perusal.

Yes, have notifications on when I get a new email so it's ensured that I check it 600 times a day

I don't even read them when I'm on call

After 11 years at my current company everybody knows I'm more than willing to help, even on a weekend, but you better call me or text me or I won't see it until Monday

Nope. I drew the line at that
Posted on 3/25/23 at 3:30 pm to dyslexiateechur
Yes. My work phone stays put away during the weekend for the most part. I check emails in the morning and Sunday night on weekend on my work phone. Work phone is always on me during the week.

I will on week days but i have taught myself to quit being attached to that on weekends and i won’t even look anymore after work on Friday.
There is zero that is important enough to look or respond on a Saturday or Sunday

I’m on the teams app constantly
Posted on 3/25/23 at 3:55 pm to dyslexiateechur
Yes, my work emails come thru my phone because I’m a responsible contributor to the company.
Im important so just can’t ‘take off’ and not be available.

Corporate policy disallows work email on personal devices which is a PITA since they rely heavily on Teams and my managers love them some Teams phone calls.

I put that shite on quiet from 4pm-6am. Otherwise I'd feel like I was always working. I probably get 100 Teams messages per day. It's pretty much replaced my office phone and most of my email communication.

I only use my phone for work email when I decide to take a PTO day, so I can call in from bed.
Otherwise, I feel the same as Jatilen:
If I take a week off the first half of my Monday back is just catching up with emails.
Work / life balance

Yes, way too frequently. I am not even important. It is self-serving though. Sales.

My company likely thinks I'm important too but since they aren't paying my phone bill the emails don't get checked on weekends or after hours. They all have my number and can call if it’s important.
I "own" the automation system on a process that generates a few million a day in revenue. I still won't do it. It sets a bad example and just leads to everyone running themselves into the ground.
They call every once and a while and I'm ok with that.

Nope. It is not required by my company, but for employees who would like access to their work emails on a personal device, waivers have to be signed and the company has to install monitoring apps to “wipe the device” if it’s ever lost or stolen to protect company information.
It’s not worth it to me so I don’t.

Nope. I check my phone for texts 2-3 times a week and if there is a text saying "check your email" I go find a laptop.

Sounds like a pretty harsh method of verification. Must lose a lot of employees, very sad.
