No, not at all. I believe aliens exist in some form some where in this big arse universe, but there is no magic omnipresent being watching everything you do taking notes and when you die we are all just maggot food.

whether it’s religion(yes), ghosts(no), ESP(no), extra dimensions(doubtful), the spiritual realm(?).

That is assuming that the brain is a material originator of consciousness rather than a conduit. Hard to say either way, though I lean towards the latter.

It’s the former, and I don’t think it is hard to say. Spirituality is a construct made by humankind to remove the scary part of the nothing that happens when you die. There is nothing but fairy tales to support anything else.

Most concepts of spirituality do not have anything to do with death. It has to do with living.

I think it is much scarier to believe that consciousness exists outside of the brain than within it, as the implications are much harder to discern. I'm not particularly hard up on convincing anyone, though. I am a poor proselytizer for both my religion and my wonky wook beliefs.

IMO, there's nothing. When you die, you die. That's it. Like a flame going out.

Truly hope I'm wrong though.

Yeah I’m going have to disagree. By definition spirituality is something that is more than life or death, it’s a soul.

I just happen to think that’s baloney and it doesn’t exist.

You believe this and in all likelihood could believe that these aliens could be far more advance than humans and life as we know it could be different. As in different dimensions, even different physically. How can you believe in alien life without the possibility of different realms of life?

My issue with the afterlife is, why are humans the only species with an afterlife. Every other species in the history of ever just dies... but humans live forever in a fantasy land.

Seems fishy.

I mean is it any less logical to believe than not to believe? How do we really know?

No. We don't know anything. It's all conjecture.

And if you are an atheist how do you justify this belief.

Until something is proven or at least has strong evidence, I'm not going to believe in it much less model my life around it.

Much more likely the bible was written to explain the world before modern science... than all the magical fairy tales in there being true.

God didn't give you a brain to blindly follow a book just because the book says to follow it...

Those who have never seen past this reality have a hard time accepting things beyond normal perception.

Think of it this way.

There are sounds that exist beyond the normal human range of hearing.
There are sights that exist outside our normal range of vision.
Tastes some can’t perceive.
Smells that animals can track that completely escape us.

Is it so far fetched that there might be other things outside our normal perceivable Spectrum?

We can deal in the microscopic, down to the atomic and even subatomic level...but there are those that still insist that now we have discovered it all.

They are wrong friend. They are dead wrong.

I’ve eaten worlds and birthed new ones. I’ve died countless times before. Death isn’t the end for all.

What? Of course I believe that if aliens that will be different physically. Believing in aliens and different dimensions are two different things. Believing a pair of simple bacteria exists 20 light years away is different than believing the universe was fabricated by some all power being that cares who we put our dick in or what or how often we sacrifice livestock in his name.
