It’s currently beneficial to my portfolio

It’ll be perceived as a net positive for those that are born into the AI age and have no concept of life before AI. It’ll be their normal and future generations will likely achieve things that we can’t now even imagine as possible.
But people will be more attached to their AI “devices” than they will be to their families, friends, etc. You can use your imagination to decide what those devices might be, but I’d imagine almost nothing is off the table. From a human standpoint, and a moral standpoint, I don’t see how it’s not eventually a detriment to society.
For me, we are a couple years or less from crossing the line where you will only be able to believe what you see in person with your own eyes. And that’s enough for me to wish it didn’t exist.

We are spiraling fast. Kids these days are dumbed down at an alarming rate. It’s killing creativity, intelligence, and social interaction. Hell, they don’t even have a sense of humor. The shite they find funny…is bad.

lol
Your friend is full of shite. The GPUs, much less the science, didn’t exist 5 years ago. There was no one manufacturing anything even remotely close to what exists today. The government didn’t have it either.

Generally speaking, the rollout of AI has been beyond clunky. It’s actually a huge PITA. Useless crap baked into every SAAS, including heavily monetized ones.
I think it has lasting effects.

Overtime it will inflate the value of the great things that are handmade or truly creative. It’ll make imperfections desired too in art and certain things.
It will make creative thinkers and non coasters separate from the pack.
It will also be the bane of folks who coast through life.

I'm afraid I can't answer that, Dave.

Considering it's taking an already bad social media/internet search pile of crap and turning into a personal oracle where we get "answers" laid out for us...I'm going to say bad.

By the time we find out it’s detrimental it will be too late to fix and mankind is done.

The Entity will end the world with missiles being launched worldwide.

Google and social media already have put society in decline with bad information
