Do you actually want a receipt when you buy routine stuff?

Do you get annoyed at getting receipts after buying routine things? You would think in this age where things are going paperless, that businesses would start offering receipts on request only. I don’t need a receipt when I buy groceries, gas, get a burger, etc.

Just say no thanks when they ask and move on. It’s not that difficult.

Receipts are construct of society to promote systemic racism insinuating people of color don’t have bank accounts and no other way to track their money or purchases.

I scream in their face about how racist it is to offer me a receipt because native Americans loved trees and white oppressors stole their land and killed them and then chopped down their trees. And for most of history they used black slave labor to cut those trees down. So receipts are actually systemic oppressive proof of white supremacy beliefs and extremely offensive to people of color and indiginous peoples.

I don't need a receipt for a doughnut, man. I give you the money, you give me the doughnut, end of transaction. We don't need to bring ink and paper into this. I just cannot imagine a scenario where I would have to prove that I bought doughnut. Some skeptical friend [to friend] "Don't even act like I didn't get that doughnut, man. I got the documentation right here."

Receipts are a form of checks and balances...there as much to prove you bought something as they are to make sure the clerk didn’t pocket the money instead of giving it to the store.

Me too, but I don't know why they don't make it optional. For almost all places the POS keeps track and the merchant isn't getting a copy so it really is stupid when you are signing digitally like almost everywhere now. I get it when you sign an actual bill that is hand delivered to you like at a restaurant, bar, etc.
