I think you're right to an extent. Many people assume they are black because of the darker skin tone and features. Bob Marley's father was white, but I can't tell by looking at pictures of him.

This chick I took out on a bumble date started hitting me with how the kids she teaches are just a bunch of "n"s and they are all animals anyway so she should be able to hit them. The fact that she was so abrupt right after we met was crazy to me.

I don't believe him. I've never once even considered talking politics to anyone I'm doing business with that isn't a close associate. Only time I can think of that I did was when I checked male on a form but the check went through the female box too and the lady chuckled and said she assumes I'm male so I said well these days you can never tell.

It seems like you really have a problem with this particular client using racial slurs, otherwise you wouldn't have started a post about it. If you are really uncomfortable with it, go to your boss or supervisor and tell them that you don't won't to work with this client because they are using racial slurs.
Or invite one of your black co-workers in your office the next time the client comes to do business. Just say that he/she is shadowing you and learning how to work with clients. If the client is still using racial slurs then, then it might be time to stop doing business with that client.

Time for a tactical ploy....
Type up a note, print, make copies, keep handy, give out as needed...
Them: blah blah, n, blah blah, black
You say: "My boss told me I have to give this out"...
The note: "The Management of xyz prohibits the use of racial slurs on the premises. All employees are responsible for compliance with this policy and enforcing."
Then within a few seconds you say: "What do you think the tigers are going to do this weekend?"
They either stay, go, come back or don't come back...but you're taking action.

Are they older people? It is more common with older people.. If I had to put an age range on it, I would say 40+. To people much older, it is "normal" for them to say certain things in everyday conversation. But damn, I don't think I ever heard anyone in a work setting say racial shite in normal conversation without even being aware with who is around them.

You realize that for a long time you were considered black if you had a "drop" of blood from a black ancestor? It was called the One-Drop Rule, and it was instituted by white people. This is a holdover from that.
