Do school crossing guards have any legal authority in LA?

TLDR WARNING.
Not talking about a police officer working for the school. I am talking about a school employee with an orange vest and a flag or stop sign placard.
I was headed home early today and came across a four way stop near my neighborhood and adjacent to a middle school. There was an unholy mess of school busses, parent pick up cars, neighborhood traffic and one jack arse coach from the school wielding a radio as a sign of authority in the middle of the four way stop. Dude was trying to act like he knew what the frick he was doing but he was making it worse. He tried to force me into the line of cars picking up kids and I knew I would be stuck if I followed his directions. The more I edged in the direction of the turn to my house the angrier this jack arse got. Finally reached the point where he was at my window yelling at me and I at him. He wasn’t listening to the fact that I was not trying to go to the school. I finally busted around the line of cars and made my escape.
He made a big show of getting my plate number. I am curious if the mighty OT knows if this guy has any legal authority. FWIW, I triple checked there were no kids on foot in the area. They were all still in class as the busses hadn’t loaded yet so I wasn’t in danger of running anyone down. Anyone except that jackass coach that is.

So you couldn't just wait for him to calm down and then tell him you weren't going to the school?

Believe me, I tried the first three times but he was having none of it. Every second I didn’t get in the car pool line he got more angry. It was funny when he was gesticulating. But when he started yelling at me I said frick it and started yelling back.

Had a crossing guard file a complaint on me (company I work for) saying I was speeding through 25 mph school zone. She didn't know that my company vehicle has a tracking system that records everything and when HR checked, I was doing under the posted speed limit.

It sucks that all the little shits are back in school. Traffic is even more of a nightmare now.

Hell yeah they do. Did you not watch the Andy Griffith show?

You need to work on your ending, tasering him then driving off would have made the story far more enjoyable.

Society is turning into one big giant selfish POS.
I know you triple checked and all, but how about you just wait five minutes to make sure you don't hit a kid?
