Do not call list

Is it a scam? Since registering the calls have only doubled.

I work at a call center and we only call the people on the do not call list. If they're dumb enough to fall for the do not call list they'll fall for anything!

The call blocking is based on their caller ID. Given that it's extremely simple to fake the caller ID, the program useless.

I’ve heard the FTC has their best detectives and prosecutors assigned to enforcing the Do Not Call list, and grand jury indictments will be handed down soon.

I can tell you for a fact that at my job, I’m required to scrub every number before calling it to make sure it’s not on the DNC list. If I call one of them and I’m reported, my employer gets fined out the arse and my job is then on thin ice.
So there’s at least one company out there that respects the DNC list.

I tried doing funny things like that too. They don't have time for your nonsense and hang up. I thought it was funny but I keep getting calls so it's not really funny

-They took a new target lately and said they heard I or someone I know is struggling with alcohol or drug abuse and they can help

No, but with number spoofing it has become somewhat pointless other than if the person gets caught. I apparently called myself the other day haha.

Yeah it depends on the industry. I work in the financial industry and we're definitely required to check the DNC list before calling anyone who isn't already a client. FINRA doesn't look kindly on firms consistently violating the DNC rules and/or not having a good way of monitoring its use.

set call blocking on your answering machine to block calls from everyone but those on your saved phone numbers
just have to remember no one cal call you to tell you your car is ready
