Please help me understand why the lesson plan would change. We are talking about a change of learning medium and not a change of what's going on in the class.

A change in “learning medium” represents a pretty significant change, no?

Let me guess, you’re just envisioning an instructor standing in front of a class reading slides off a PowerPoint.

Even if that were true for every classroom everywhere, you’re also then not accounting for people who don’t have ready access to the internet or internet capable devices for an entire family.

I’ve had discussions with quite a few teachers about this and private schools had pretty good participation since they made an effort to verify if/which students were actually participating and were penalized for failing to participate. In public schools, most times, the teacher was the ONLY person participating in remote learning sessions and failure of students to log on and/or participate had NO consequences.

LOL - the kids didn’t even get on. Lots lack internet, computers and parents to make them get on. Welcome to ‘Merica in 2026.

Zoom learning is a nightmare for k-12 public schools

Give everyone the day off and if you need to make it up later, do so

it would be more productive if kids learned to bake rather than have zoom classes

I think maga states have passed laws forbidding paying of daily attendance funds for zoom classes. So school districts have no incentive to teach by zoom.

Not putting kids at the bus stop is a wise move tomorrow morning

This is the dumbest line that keeps getting repeated to ad nauseam. There are so many ways around this. Parents can drive little johnny to school or they can sit in their parent's car.

Those that want to learn will figure out away to get it done and those that don't well that's on them. You don't shut down an entire system because its too cold. If the roads are safe; send them to school!

Schools here in Caddo do stuff in Canvas along with their regular school classes. They just tell them to work in Canvas while they’re out

In Gwinnett County, GA we have Digital Learning Days. Basically the teachers give them some videos to watch and/or some busy work. Almost like having a substitute teacher that day.

Kids would be so better off getting outside and enjoying the day off than they would sitting inside and fake learning on the bullshite elessons

That shite doesn’t work, let them run around outside
