Do Drinks With Artificial Sweetner Never Quench Your Thirst?

I like a drink with a little sweetness (diet sodas or water with flavored artificial sweetnerto it during meals). But when I try to drink said drinks when actually thirsty, they never seem to quench my thirst. Seems like I can down bottle or can after can, and I'm still thirsty; whereas, with plain water, I don't run into this issue.
Anyone else experience this? Why dey do dis?

Turn this into a positive. Go for the record.

Because "sweet" doesn't quench cravings for more "sweet".
Sweet tea makes you want more. Unsweet tea does its job.
Also, Gatorade and Powerade don't quench thirst either. Bad business model for them. They actually make you more thirsty. That's the sweet we in them.
But they do help prevent cramps and dehydration.

Cant touch it, finally found out that is what causes my ringing sound in my ears. Just a touch on my tongue of any AS will make my ears ring.

The Diet Coke you order with your super sized Big Mac combo doesn't quench your thirst?
Try a washing down your meal with a super size sugar free chocolate shake.

Powerade Zero does, but I kind of see your point as far as soda.

I really can't drink anything with AS unless I'm eating. If I had a 20 oz Diet Coke I would never finish it.
