Knoxville sucks unless you're in school. I didn't even consider staying there after graduation

This

I never considered any city in TN besides maybe Nashville. Charlotte and ATL were on my radar.

You commute 2 hours each way every day?

No way. I have a camper I live in during the week. There are some guys that actually do drive 2 hours one way to work.

Just a guess, but are you at WBN or another plant?

Lived here for over 20 years. I had lived in many places before residing here because my dad was in the Army. I don't mind it here, as long as it's West Knoxville.

Enjoying West Knoxville a good bit so far... and a lot to do downtown/Old City. Haven't ventured out East other than the Zoo and just a few times to the South.

A couple nice areas out east. A lot of troubling areas out east as well. Downtown really changed over the years. Very depressing in the late 90s but they really revamped it over the years.

Hot summer days. The temps are decent at night but still a very humid place. Spring/Fall are great. Winter averages around 40s in the highs and 30s lows but we do get some warm days too.

Zero natural disasters. Maybe 2 F0 tornadoes in the 20 plus years I've lived here. Minimal flooding. Handful of winter storms in all that time too. Last blizzard I believe was in 1993.

We live in a county to the immediate east of Knoxville. We decided to avoid Knox/Knox County taxes.

In the 37919 what do you need to know? Plenty of breweries around another one is opening up in a few weeks which makes probably 25 in the area. Plenty of lakes rivers, you have the national park you can hike everywhere. plenty of public land to hunt. Airport Sucks and is expensive compared to other cities. I don’t know of any LSU bars. Outdoor activities are plenty mountain biking water sports. Couple of huge off road parks if you are into that kind of stuff.

I don't need to know anything. Was just genuinely curious what posters were in the area.

Bummer that there isn't a LSU bar. We may need to claim one.

Knoxville winters are cold-ish and rainy, but then you check the weather elsewhere.

Our cold seldom reaches the cold of the plateau or Smokies or the rest of the Appalachians. USDA zone is usually zone 7 and spring comes and it's wonderful.

Rain is one thing, too much of the southeast is snow, sleet or freezing rain. Or never ending summer heat and humidity.

We've been back here about 25 years and don't have serious cold weather coats or galoshes, nor have we needed them.
