I don't think I have any. But I care so little about it that I'll probably never check.
Are we only talking about slaves in America?

Yep. One of great great great something grandfathers owned a plantation in Simsboro that had slaves. When they were set free after the war, they started Grambilng University.

What does it matter? If my Great Grandfather had murdered someone am I somehow responsible, this is all nonsense.

My great, great, great, great, great grandfather bought two slaves from a Black slave owner in South Carolina.
The Black slave owner, William Ellison, from South Carolina refused to sell more because evidently he needed them on his farm.

None of my French or Cajun ancestors had any slaves, but my Scottish/English ancestors were landowners in Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana and East Texas before the Civil War so I probably do have some slave owners in my family background.
I had nothing to do with it so I can't really feel any guilt about it.
In the words of Ben Folds from "Rocking the Suburbs":
In a haze these days, I pull up to the stop light,
I can feel that something's not right.
I can feel that someone's blasting me with hate,
And bass, sending dirty vibes my way.
Cause my Great, Great, Great, Great, Grandad,
Made someone's Great, Great, Great, Great Grandaddies slaves.
It wasn't my idea, it wasn't my idea, never was my idea.

My great great great great great grandmother was sold on the auction block in Mobile Alabama. Her name was Rachel. For the rest of the story, Watch “The Free State of Jones”.
Several of my Black friends know this story and begged me not to ever tell it because they say it will ruin my life. That breaks my heart, I couldn’t care less
Apparently I’m owed a half acre and a goat. I don’t even want the goat.
