A suspected drunk driver apparently caused a pickup truck to plow into Guy's Po-Boys shop on Magazine Street early Monday (Dec. 21) after running a stop sign and colliding with the other vehicle, the New Orleans Police Department reports.  The truck ended up inside the sandwich shop.

Later Monday morning, the entrance to Guy's was covered in plywood. Chairs, propelled by the truck, were impaled by their legs in the walls. Tables and other furnishings were scattered around the dining room.

The driver of the Toyota FJ Cruiser, identified by police as 19-year-old Shakti Gilotra, received minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Authorities say Gilotra was driving on Valmont Street around 12:39 a.m. when he disregarded a stop sign and collided with a silver Dodge pickup truck that was traveling on Magazine Street.

Nice OT detective work. Now aside from a DWI negligent injuring, Shakti is facing 2nd degree felony battery charges. This kid’s father has to be shitting himself, this is not the Hindu way, haha
