Call Lorraine McCormick in BR. Very experienced and ethical, but tough. If a peaceful resolution is still possible, she will explore those options. She’s extremely well-respected by judges and other attorneys. A kind person too.

And remember, you’re the boss. Your lawyer is not in charge. You are. You make the calls.

True if you’re self-representing. Not true if you’re hiring an actual attorney.

Oh lord.

As someone who has hired quite a few attorneys over the years for various reasons-not divorce though- at the end of the day it is my call.

I listen to them, they listen to me, one of us rolls their eyes and we reach an agreement, sometimes by flipping a coin but nevertheless at the end it’s my call only.

I’ve always in 45 years been that way and never once have I had an issue with any decision because I only had myself to blame if it crapped out. Which-occasionally you get home cooked and it craps out.

Actually it shits the bed sometimes but that’s life. The shitty part of life.

Don’t hire a discount attorney either. That’s like discount sushi. Sheet shitting is guaranteed.

I appreciate the leads and the good lucks. I hit up a few of attorneys this morning. Just waiting on reply’s. I know this shite ain’t easy. Hardest thing I’ve ever had to do is look my two kids in the eyes knowing what is coming for them because of someone else’s selfish decisions. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. But I know I have to keep my chin up and stay strong for them to see. We will get past it one day and hopefully be better off.

I knew a couple in Baton Rouge and it went down exactly like this. I felt really bad for the dude because she broke him. Out of curiosity, was this in BR and was the wife an attorney?

It was in New Orleans. Don't even know what his wife did for a living. But I do remember baking was her hobby. He'd bring us fresh baked good a couple of times a month.

I don’t really know any guys that’s given up

Yep we hunt golf and fish and drink beer during and af lsu games

But nobody is neglecting their wife that I know of.
We as men are much simpler beings , more content with our lives and everything that goes along with being a dad and husband.
Women seem to be the ones that are the most unhappy.
My point was they’d be just as unhappy without you if not moreso ….if they could be honest .

Best of luck to you, man. Divorce sounds rough and hope it isn't something I have to experience in life.
