If one fraternal twin is divorced, the other's risk raises by about 160%, no matter the gender.
Environment and upbringing you say?
Not so fast. If an identical twin is divorced, the other identical twin's odd of divorce are increased by ab astounding 550%.
EDT: I am not saying environment etc. play no role .

It's pretty simple. People can be genetically predisposed to traits an behaviors and those behaviors and traits, in turn, increase the likelihood of divorce. Aggression, impulsive, addition, sensation seeking, mental illness, emotionally reactive, just to name a few.

So you mean to tell me that two people who look the same, grew up wearing the same clothes, going to the same school in the same classes, probably living together in college, and getting married around the same time might both get divorced? Shocking

Much more so if they are identical brothers or sisters than if fraternal. Fraternals often look alike and certainly are raised similarly as well.

Your risk of divorcing also goes up greatly if many of your friends are divorced.

Identical twins are typically closer than fraternal twins. More associated. That's the link. Not genetics.

Would you all say that behaviors and traits such as impulsivity, emotional reactivity, addiction, propensity for violence and aggression, mental illness, etc. are at least "partially" predisposed by one's genetic make up? Certainly, upbringing and environment plays a role.
Would you also say that those same behaviors and traits increase the probability of divorce?
Fraternal twins share some of the same genetic makeup, while identical twins share the same exact same genetic makeup.
If you can understand this, then you understand and agree with the Op.
