So then why are you so pressed about it?

I'm not, I'm not really on either side. I'm bored and wanted to chat. It's funny everyone is getting so worked up about this pandering.

Most of the remakes have been, hmm that was nice, but I rather the original. I don't see that changing for this one, so people cheering for it or against it are just wasting time for a movie that will be subpar to the original.

Just say this out loud and see if you can hear how absurd you sound right now.

The very idea that a black chick got hired for her merits is preposterous to you.

Hiring a singular black chick for a role vs changing a movie like Ghostbusters or oceans 11 into female driven leads is a bit different. And yes, those are pandering. You act like the entire idea of making money off big budget movies isn't pandering to your targeted audience.

Are y'all saying that for a black girl to get this part, it has to be an agenda? The black chick couldn't have earned it?

That’s exactly what they’re saying but won’t admit it. God forbid a black person be better at something other than athletics.

I agree. The only one I enjoyed more than the animated was the Jungle Book. I’m looking forward to The Lion King but I don’t think it’ll live up to the animated.

However, knowing Disney, do you really think this is what happened, especially given todays SJW environment and Disneys agenda? Only way to really prove it is see the movie. If she is heads above most in singing ability, then we'll know it's because of that. You can teach anyone to act, so i dont think acting prowess for a Disney live action film was a consideration.

Have you seen the other live action remakes? They've been great. There's nothing to suggest this will be different.

She wasn't hired for her merits, and you know it. Stop playing the fricking contrarian for once.

No, it's not. It has the same purpose in all three cases. Your obliviousness doesn't change reality.

I saw the touring Aladdin show last month. They had a black genie. He was absolutely incredible and one of the best performers I've ever seen, but I know the true reason he got the part was because he's black.

For it to make any sense, King triton needs to be black. Her sisters need to be black. I don’t recall if her mom was alive in the original but there’s another.

Look, just make it a black mermaid movie and be done with it. Because it ain’t “the little mermaid”

There it is. Because we think Disney's choice is flat out pandering, that makes us racist.

Okay sport. Whatever you want to believe.

How can you even say this with authority? You're completely guessing because you think Disney is shoving black people down your throat.

There's literally zero evidence you can show to say she was hired for an agenda yet you think you speak 100% facts.

No, it's because you think its just beyond absurd to suggest she could've been hired for her talents.

Don't spin my words, I've been extremely direct.

No, you loser. That is not what they are saying, and you know it. You can't argue that Disney isn't doing this for SJW merits, so you are now resorting to "you're all racists". Grow up, and learn to debate better.

As stated earlier, i would LOVE for merit to be why she is cast. I also said, you'd have to hear her sing to find that out. If she has a great voice, then we'll know. If it's just ok, then it may be the case that this is more SJW pandering from the entertainment biz.

I'm wondering, is why you and TH03 think that the idea that Disney, whose company president threatened to boycott Georgia over it's politics, wouldn't dare try a stunt like this? Especially given the other pandering movies we've seen as mentioned above.

So please, for arguments sake, stop being lazy and start using the race card. No one cares they chose a black actress (at least reasonable people don't). What people care about is switching race simply to virtue signal/pander/etc...

Let me guess...Idris Elba was the best choice for Roland Deschain, with the bombardier blue eyes, too

There are tons of videos of her singing on YouTube. She has a very good voice that is more deserving of the part

I never said it wasn't possible. I simply suggested she could've been hired for her talent and got the replies that it was absurd to suggest that.

You have zero evidence for what you suggest and neither do I. I, however, am not acting like I know I'm 100% right. Y'all are.

I haven't seen Aladdin. I saw Jungle Book. I liked it. I'm more pumped about the Lion King remake. It looks cool, visually.

Not saying it will. Again, i'm not saying it isn't, with 100% certainty, not based on the girls talent. I've never heard her sing. I truly hope that is the reason. But it SEEMS, based on the push from Hollywood and the entertainment business's recent history, that this is simply another pandering moment. You can't deny that considering todays SJW/Pandering/Virtue Signaling world, that that isn't a possiblity.
