Aside from all of this, if I owned a company and one of my main employees/the face of the organization, consistently alienated and spewed hate at over half of my customer base...they wouldn't be an employee for long.

It should be no wonder why the ratings for people like Colbert and Kimmel have been shite for years now.

Jimmy Kimmel was certainly not arrested, but that doesn't mean that there can't be a 1A violation. Maybe you knew that and were just overly simplistic in your response, but I've seen so many misguided takes on 1A rights on here that it's often hard to tell.

Public wireless spectrum licensed by the govt causes broadcasters to have more govt rules than others. Kimmel broke one of them and has been doing it.

I'm sure you were in all the threads that covered how the Biden admin was working directly with social media companies to censor and remove individual people and posts, yes?

The bastardization of the 1A by both the Obama and Biden administrations was despicable and should never happen. Any intellectually honest person should be concerned about any government suppression of ideas that conflict with those of the current administration.

WSJ reports Jimmy Kimmel planned to address the controversy had he gone on air Wednesday night. But Kimmel planned to blame MAGA, and Disney execs feared he would just make things worse.

Tucker met his end when advertisements started to dry up. His message was too intense for “mainstream”. In this case Nexstar and Sinclair said they would pull the show. Iger was probably not renewing the show next year anyways. There were zero ongoing renewal negotiations. This was just a timely move, yes probably everyone colluded but it all boils down to money and Iger getting tired of the schtick. Win/win/win. Jimmy isn’t being silenced. He can start a podcast. He can do interviews with the Rollingstone and Vice.
