Baton Rouge is back in the movie business in a big way. The capitol city is the site for production of a new live-action feature film for Disney+.

This futuristic teen adventure is called Crater. It is to be filmed at Celtic Studios and at several locations in the Baton Rouge region. This project is expected to bring hundreds of jobs to south Louisiana. This movie has a budget of $40 million. 400 extras will be needed for the movie.

Why are they making a movie based on BR potholes?

They should really get out and enjoy the culture of BR during filming. The ones who survive can go back and tell their liberal friends about their experience.

I think the Gravy movie was a sequel to Free Willy.

In any case, I'm glad they are back to filming in Louisiana. I imagine the restrictions are a little tighter in California. Sounds like they are going to hire a lot of people locally. And the folks from out of state that come in will likely take up a lot of hotel rooms and warm a lot of seats at local restaurants.

Film it at Tigerland. Make it a big crater. Then, check back for other locations to film the next scenes...WIN WIN

Excellent chance for you baws to hand your kids over to the Disney pedos! Maybe they'll give you a free weekend at a park so you can post about it all over Facebook as if anyone else besides you is impressed that you're at Disney.

Many of the roads are in much better shape in north BR than the rest of the city. I am not talking about in the subdivisions, but the main roads seem to be in better shape. I have to drive through occasionally, maybe it is just the roads I drive.

A reasonable analysis thankfully free of ridiculous pedo/liberal insuations ... the reality is that 60% or more of the crew is local to Louisiana. Many of them hardworking painters and carpenters who are most certainly not liberals.

It's a nice sized project for the city, which needs a studio film.

There's less economic activity (less trucks driving through) causing less strain on roads that are funded by more productive areas.

I signed up to be an extra one time. It was interesting to see how they did things the first two hours and excruciatingly tedious the next 6 hours. I didn't go back the next day.

For a week or two.

Bill for taxpayers? roughly 30% of their salaries and other expenses of the film welfare collectors.

This helps, but it’s more so us getting the leftover scraps from Georgia.

With the initial shutdown from filming plus a huge demand for more content since everyone binged during the pandemic, every soundstage it ATL is booked for the next 12-18 mo
