Tip fatigue is real. Imagine going for frozen yogurt. Your kid fills up a cup with toppings, puts it on the scale…$13! And then a tip option shows up on the screen. Your kid grabbed the bowl, filled it up, walked it over to the register.. why tip for that overpriced nonsense?

Or Walmart plus. WTH is up with that? The things they used to ship are now delivered instead, by a rando who you don’t want on your porch, expecting a tip?

Ummm. If you're talking about this one, I'm gonna need to know WTF wine club you're in. That's nearly half off. Love that wine, but hate spending $60 on it.

I agree it is a horrible reason for an employer to cause employees to miss out on it…..so guess what get rid of the credit surcharge and add the charge to menu prices.

If it's a nice kid or cute girl working the counter, I'll leave a courtesy $1 tip.

The tip being tied to the total is what doesn’t make sense.

If I order a steak vs a hamburger, did the sever work any harder? Why is more tip expected?

Worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years. Probably has more to do with the absolute shite service servers are giving out. Before I finally got out, it was to the point you had to run through 15 or 20 new hires to find someone worth a frick. The worst issue is phones. You can’t keep servers off of them. Most have earbuds in fricking around and FaceTime’n every second of the day. The guest is just a nuisance they have to deal with.

I tip less because prices are higher

Its a great reason and I am a good tipper but I have not increased my tips by the higher cost of food

Do we think a waitress deserves more of a tip because she serves me a $35 steak instead of a $25 steak at the same place?

I tip based on service. Not always due to the cost of the food as prices soar

I tipped 4% less because of this unadvertised service fee.

Absolutely infuriating to see that damn fee. They ought to at least have a sign on the door.
