Yep, January of 1982. And, my dad wanted to be there with me. He served in the Air Force so it was a proud moment when I turned 18 and could do this. I registered to vote and for selective service same day.

I signed up at the Baton Rouge downtown post office in 1985. My Aunt Beth worked for the post office for 45 years.

Yes it was required. I believe I did it the same time I registered to vote.
Yeah I am guessing I did the same as I don’t really remember registering to vote but I know I did so I assume I did it the same day.

Ok according to that link I did register. It appears it was about 6 months after my birthday when I was at LSU. It was in October so that’s probably when I registered to vote.

Looks like I registered about a month before my 18th birthday. I'm pretty sure I remember getting a selective service card in the mail, and I registered online. Took pretty much just a single click. Iirc.

I'm a privileged white male so of course I did not.

No. Was called for duty in late '68 by the Army but I had already taken tests for the Air Force so I went with them.

It’s required. A draft dodger fails to participate once they are called to serve, like Cassius Clay.

Yep. I think I had to go to the post office to sign up if I recall correctly.

Looks like I did 7/10/1996. I knew that I had done it but I don't remember it.

Inaccurate information in regards to the Iraqi Army.
We expected a seasoned military able to go for a rolonged engagement and willing to use biologics and chemical attacks at the pin drop.

I did but my parents had enough influence and money where I would never have to worry about my number being called.
