My last great grandparent died when I was in 7th grade. I'm lucky to still have my grandma and so my daughter at least gets to have a great grandparent between my wife and I.

I only met my great grandfather on my mother's side. Sorta sad story; he (on account of his POS second wife who prohibited him from family contact) was estranged from his kids and I really never knew about him because nobody talked about him. But he lived in my small hometown. Come to find out, he was old and poor and would sit on a bench in front of the Winn Dixie with other old folks who had nothing to do in my hometown. I used to ride my bike and go in that Winn Dixie often for candy and stuff. Makes me shudder to think I probably walked past my GG multiple times unaware of who he was.
Then, maybe when I was around 9 or 10 or so, my mom and grandmother took me to a nursing home to see him on his deathbed with only days left to live. The revelation sorta blew my kid mind. But I have a memory of him, so that's good I suppose. Thanks for jogging it.

Met both my great grandparents on my dad's side. We used to go to their house when I was a kid for holidays and in the summer. My last memory of them were the funerals and the auction of all the things in their house when great grandma passed, I was around 7 or 8.
Only met my great grandmother on my mom's side. She lived to be 99 so I knew her for a while. Used to mow her lawn and she'd treat me with cookies, home made pie, ice cream and the coldest glasses of milk I have ever had. She's the reason I put a glass in the freezer or ice cubes in my milk today when I drink it, to try and recapture the coldness of it.
My kids were able to spend time with and know both of their great grandmothers but neither great granfather.

I met 3 of my great grandparents.
Great grandfather died when I was 2. Don’t remember him, but have some pictures of both of us.
One great grandmother died when I was 8. I remember visiting her (she lived an hour away) several times with my grandmother.
My other great grandmother died when I was 20. She was awesome, and I have many fond memories of/with her. I am the eldest grandchild on my mom’s side, so I got to spend the most time with her out of my sister and our cousins. She was a great cook, and would always send me home with a cherry pie that she baked whenever I would go to visit her. She was 97 or 98 when she died.

I think I met one, maybe 2. But I don't remember at all.

I knew two of my Great Grandmothers (my Maternal Grandmother's Mom and Maternal Grandfather's Mom). My Nanny used to take me bluegill fishing when I was in elementary school. Passed of a heart attack when I was in 4th or 5th grade.
My Grandfather's Mom (Grandma) every Christmas Eve would give us the most atrocious sweaters and matching sock sets. Then we would wear them to Midnight Mass. She passed when I was in high school from Alzheimer's.

I never knew my paternal great grandparents but was close to the ones on my maternal side. My great grandmother was still alive when my son was born, so we have a picture of her holding her great great grandson. She died not long after that though. He has no memory of her, although she sure was proud of him.
My son will be 20 in a couple of weeks, and he has been able to have a close relationship with 3 of his 4 great grandparents. Only one of them is still living now. My wife's grandfather will be 100 on his next birthday.

I shared a bedroom with my great grandmother for about a year. She kinda raised me before that. I remember going with her to Resthaven to see her son (my grandfather died when I was 3 months old) and feed bread to the ducks.
She had some fun stories about growing up and sneaking off to play with the black kids which was not allowed in her family.
