Maybe since this could've been a dry run, they wanted to walk in when there were relatively few people to lower their chance of getting caught on a dry run.

when have you ever seen someone walking around walmart with a backpack on? For one to go into the store with a backpack would bring attention to yourself. what possible purpose would they have for wearing a backpack in the store?

IL. Why would terrorist attack there?

Maybe they were tired of living in IL. I don't blame them.

Isn't the point of a dry run to go when you would want to blow the thing up?

I have no doubt that video evidence will verify what I say. This was in the time period of approximately 10:00-10:15 PM this evening at the Walmart on North Prospect Avenue in Champaign, IL.

I bring back packs to stores ALL THE TIME. I am dirty hippie and don't like those plastic bags.

Also, could have been laptop bags, going on a road trip and didn't want to leave them where some enterprising white person could steal them.

eh. Doesn't sound too suspicious to me.

these guys could have very well been either college or HS students there to pick up one of their friends. Perhaps they were just checking inside to see if they were close to getting off

Dont worry general. We will all find out in a week or so if you were right. If you were you could say, " I told you guys" if not then oh well.

I hate to interject seriousness into this thread, but I dont think the people that carried out the 9/11 bombings learned how to fly over the skies of manhattan.

No, in fact, some of the 9/11 hijackers flew on planes before 9/11 to test our security in dry runs.

Yeah. I have been seeing these keep NYC green commercials and they say to save the planet you should bring your own cloth sack to the grocery store instead of using plastic bags. So maybe they were tree hugging arabs there to save the world.

The University of Illinois has the highest amount of foreign grad students out of any American college. It's engineering college is ranked in the top 5 nationwide usually, so that attracts lots of male students from countries like Saudi Arabia.

I meant same time of day. To see if at that time of day anyone would act differently. Unless they plan to blow it up at 10pm. Could be?

Right.....but, why would they do a dry run at a wal-mart with a potentially different layout. Entrance, exits and security professionals.

well lets just agree to hope this is just a mistake. All i can say is if it all went down the way he describe, it would look suspicious to me.

If something actually happened next week, i'd be so pissed off that the lady on 911 tonight didn't take me that seriously.

Then again, why dry run a suicide bombing mission? Walk in and blow yourself and others up. If someone jumps you or gets suspicious you still kill yourself and everyone around.
