The parents will abandon it eventually. Call your vet to get a bird milk substitute. You may have to call a few different places because they usually don't have any in stock. Scare the parents away so you can nurse it back to health. A sock-like device that imitates the mother bird teets is available so the baby doesn't imprint on you, but right now you need to really focus on keeping it alive. Good luck

I'd like to see how long you'd stay in your bedroom if a giant gloved hand appeared, especially if it was already holding your brother.

ehh, I like them but not that much.

I guess in a way I'm part of nature so since maybe I killed them that means nature killed them.

Thrashers and Mockingbirds are notorious for leaving the nest before they can fully fly. Like you witnessed, the parents hang around until the bird can fly.
Just leave them be and nature will take it's course, it'll either fly or get eaten.

Now the world is going to end. Brown Thrasher effect and whatnot. If a nest of baby birds die, WW3 happens. Thanks.

Thats what I'm doing. Parents are hanging around and I'm giving them some space to do their thing. Did chase off a cat that was skulking nearby.

You know you're going to have to stay up all night keeping predators away, right?

They are fledgling. They will all be fine, unless a cat or coon is around.

So birds have been doing their thing for a pretty long time and you come along and think they need you?
