It's odd because I loved both sets a lot but yeah, one set kinda seemed all about my cousins on that side even though they were kinda...salt of the earth (low ambition, not very bright, bad life choices) while me and my siblings did well in school, got college and advanced degrees and more. So I guess that primarily put them in the B category.

My dad's parents were amazing grandparents. My grandmother is still. My dad's father is the best man I have ever known.

My mom's mother passed away when I was a baby. Her dad is the biggest piece of shite I have ever known.

Mom's parents were the best.
Father's parents were dead.
Step-dad's parents were cool but lived a few hours away.

It's sad how common it is for people to have severely strained relationships with close family members. My father and his brother didn't speak for years.
