I would think waiting for him to pop in the bathroom would have given anyone a 50/50 chance at subduing the perp.

I think a lot of you are under estimating being in a loud club/bar while drunk. But then again, this is the OT where everyone would have attacked the shooter and saved 50+ people during this massacre.

Laughing right back at ya, pal.

1. It wasn't an AK
2. I googled squill & it's some kind of plant.

Why does being drunk relate to being more scared? Its quite the opposite for most men err everyone for that matter. Gun men walks into a club at any SEC college town and there's bound to be multiple wiskey drunk Baw's more than ready for a fight. I'm not saying they would be worth a darn, but I would bet some would certainly try.

I thought it was a hate crime by an American citizen with a mean, black, American assault rifle?

've had a gun in my face and it wasn't a fricking AR it was just a pistol. You basically shite your pants and your brain goes straight in to flight mode.
I had a woman pull a pistol on me. She waved it all around my face. I didn't shite my pants. I proceeded to fight her husband to a standstill. He outweighed me by 70 or 80lbs. I'm sure some of you idiots will deny it, but there's a police report to prove it. You don't have to be a badass to have courage.

Generally, most people are more keyed-up in that setting than they would be sitting in their office stone-cold sober. Otherwise, why are there more bar fights than office fights?

ETA: My first option in the setting would be to GTFO. If I couldn't, I believe I would at least try to put up some kind of resistance. Hopefully, I never have to find out.

There's a difference between being a tough guy in a college bar and fearing for your life from a shooter. The noise, seeing blood everywhere and people dying, your hear racing, Legs shaking, scared for your life.. Yeah I'm sure the armchair quarterbacks here would be stone cold calm and logical in such a situation.

Yeah, no guy is going to go after a mass murderer spraying bullets in a dark nightclub.

Perhaps, but they sure as hell do on the train. 'Murica bitches

No man, these guys already know they are going to win the fight against 2 million years of human evolution in a situation they will never encounter.

The whole just rush him thing...so if you do this as a group some people are going to die, I do not think people are just going to sign up for that.

I do not understand hiding in a bathroom stall. I know they were in a panic and I am sure I would have been as well.

I can see myself running anywhere to get away and ending up in a bathroom, but then to go hide in a stall. I am not sure I would have done that.

Hopefully once I realized I ran into a death trap with no exit, I would have tried to survive be any means necessary. Also would depend on the lay out of the bathroom.

Yes, I know some will get killed by doing that but still seems like a better option then hiding in the bathroom.
Pretty silly to say this as a blanket statement.

Hiding in a bathroom could absolutely be your best option in certain situations.

That is the recommendation. Either get out or attack
It's actually Run, then hide, then fight that is the recommendation.

I agree with those saying hiding in a stall is the worst thing you could do. Basically herding a bunch of people into a catch pen. But like many have said, they were drunk and scared and certainly not thinking rationally. Also, they didn't know if it was just one shooter or if he had explosives or what.

Yep, I'd think that hiding first then attacking once he enters is your best shot. But that also assumes you have some time to think it over after hiding. And even still, it's easier said than done.
