Then he would have to deal with the Uptown douches at the bar.

Because I watch 114 become a parking lot around 8am. To get out of Uptown to Las Colinas requires me getting on 35E > 183 > 114 whereas I literally hop on Bush and there in 17 minutes.

This too, and even though the women look better, they are a fricking pain in the arse to deal with.

I find the women in North Dallas have better expectations lmao.

Frisco/Plano tends to be family oriented and 35-45ish. Not much nightlife. We are happy raising kids here but I was single or didn't have kids I wouldn't live here. Home prices are also rising dramatically with the Toyota people moving in the area.

Definitely. From what I understand, Frisco and McKinney don't allow bars. Obviously there are restaurant bars, and I guess Legacy Shops(not sure if there are others) is an exception to the rule, but it's great raising a family in Frisco or McKinney.

The amount of development in Las Colinas is crazy right now. I would imagine that area will turn into a hotspot once it is all completed late this year. I work in Las Colinas, and some of my co workers are thinking about going in on a "crash pad"...haha.

It is tough to beat Southlake. Plano/Frisco are very nice, but Southlake make Dallas and Fort Worth accessible. Fort Worth is a long haul from Plano/Frisco. You are 15 minutes from the airport, and once construction on 114 is finished, you are probably less than 30 minutes from Nokia.

I have a peer who lives in Frisco...with traffic, it is an hour twenty each way to Las Colinas. He is miserable, and the one leading the charge for the crash pad.

I was thinking about this at lunch. It sucks being at the fork in the road of life.

1) I am actively looking to settle down with someone and start a family so Southlake appeals to me in that regard because of everything described about it in this thread.

2) However, the single life still calls and it's hard to live in suburbia as a single dude.

In short, I never realized how much thought you really put into what neighborhood you want to buy into lol.

Where's your office ?

Southlake is high dollar

Celina is nice and growing, we live on the eastern edge of Murphy (in Sachse) and like it bc we are close to several lakes and some country.

I just read that you are 31 and single, you better find an apartment/townhome in Addison, it's cool there and a lot of singles.

My watering hole was Vernon's until I got hitched

The suburbs are full of women with kids, husbands , x's and drama.

I live essentially there now. I am a little north of Addison.

I used to work in the Caremark/CVS building close to where you are. My advice to you as a single no kids cat is to simply pick one of the nice new condo/apartment places right around the 161/114 area and make your commute as easy as possible. If you take some of the advice here, you'll instantly hate life due to the traffic going in almost any direction. Murphy? Celina? Frisco? McKinney? Dear God... Keep your work/home commute short and when needed, spend your time in a car going to entertain yourself.

Yeah, if you're working in Las Colinas it's best to live there or at least stay away from Collin County. It's apt to get "more best" as the exurbs continue to expand upward and outward.

There is a very convenient DART rail from Las Colinas to uptown/downtown Dallas as well..

I have been in Grapevine for about 6 years now, and it's gotten a lot better with regard to traffic. It's a great suburb with a ton to offer. With your budget you shouldn't have trouble finding a house. The nice thing about Grapevine is you can be in Downtown/Uptown Dallas in about 30-45min, and Downtown Ft. Worth in 30min. You are also a short cab ride to DFW.

Best of luck

If single get apt and stay as close as possible to work. (Grapevine). If you had a family, Flower Mound/Southlake.

Can't really go wrong with any place north of George bush. All the cities have pluses and minuses, but at the end of the day they are very similiar. Live close to work because, unlike the majority here, I will admit traffic sucks in all these cities.

If you are single and ready to have fun. you could write a book on what you can do in any of the Frisco/little elm all the way to south lake 121 corridor. just hit any kroger at 9-11 am on a weekday. Unreal what is going on. I work for a wine distributor and see this everyday. You could be the GOAT!
