Well august is technically a summer month but yes.

The dreaded jellyfish is probably the Gulf Coast surfer's worst nightmare. There are three varieties, and they're in Gulf waters year-round, with the high season being late summer or early fall.

honestly, the best thing to do is raise kids not to give a frick about jelly fish. Have them become one with nature, they will thank you later in life

i stepped on one of those miserable fricks in perdido key. hurt like shite

Nah man, the sharks keep the jellies away.

Just returned today from Destin/San Destin and no jelly fish encounters at either places.

How about tell them to be careful and watch out for them and have fun and tell the parents to stop being titty babies about the whole thing. Either get over it and go have fun. Or stay at home and come up with more stuff to worry about.

Seaweed everywhere but water is clear.

Be more concerned with Hwy 98 traffic. Come through Crestview for a smoother ride and jump on Mid Bay bridge extender. Oh and no jellyfish yet.

Would it be better to come on a weekday at 3:00 pm or 9:00 am?

Just use the mid-bay toll bridge. Avoid going towards Ft. Walton unless that's where you are staying or need to. It took an hour to drive from mid-bay bridge to McGuire's the other evening.

Summer rentals are pretty much Saturday to Saturday so those are the worst days.
Driving early on a weekday would be better.

Been here since Wednesday. Jellyfish on Wed and none since

Carson I think your confusing jellyfish with stingrays. No one has ever stepped on a jellyfish and had it hurt unless by stepping on it you mean you drug your pussy over it.

This was our 1st trip to the area and the seaweed was pretty bad compared to our usual vacation spot in Gulf Shores/Orange beach.

Might want to pick up some chainmail armor.

We just got back about a week ago and my little girl got stung by a jelly but it wasn't bad. We also did see a shark in shallow water. There was also red flags out pretty much the whole time we were there.
