You’re an idiot. The average fraternity member would have helped her get from the bar to her apartment safely. Just because there are a few bad apples doesn’t mean the average guy in a fraternity is a POS.

Yeah I’m sure situations differ (obviously) but my experience was the interlinking of friendships between the groups led to this much more often than not. For example, the girl in bad shape was sorority sisters with your bro Paul’s gf, or friends from HS with your bro Ben, or some other relation that would lend itself to trying to help or at least certainly not trying to bone her (if not for morality’s sake then knowing it’d be a shitstorm). I recall a couple of decent brawls over it too, cockblocking the supposed Romeo.

Hey bad shite happened too and not trying to whitewash things but I personally just recall the helping the girl countless times as opposed to hearing of otherwise.

I don't disagree with you, I am all for personal responsibility. But, can you agree that a drunk woman is much more likely to be raped than a drunk man?

I'm willing to bet none of yall experienced what this poor girl did (obviously not even counting the getting killed part).

Not gang rape, but my friend woke up at a construction site in Monroe. If you wake up alone, don't know where you are or how you got there, it's pretty safe that it was rape. Just because it wasn't multiple people doesn't mean it wasn't a crime.

Additionally with the 28 year old...forever, there have been men who are older who hang around the college bars with the intent of preying on the young coed. They weren't usually raping them, but they definitely were there on a mission of taking home a young girl who didn't realize what hit her.

It's sad and hard to communicate it where young women in their upper teens and young 20s really under stand it, but they truly are prey for many men. I surely didn't realize it until many years later looking back.

What does that have to do with what I said?

You're either leaving out some details or making some pretty big assumptions to try to get into the victim group here.

Private lawyer won’t be DA or prosecutor, maybe have some recourse on civil action vs bar but not likely the 4 turds have much.

The 17 year old should be prosecuted as an adult. Though

run-down / crappy housing around the area invites loiterers / predators like this. The area surrounding these college bars needs to be drastically cleaned up. or leveled and re-built with attractive college housing. dont tihnk that will happen, slum-lords are too happy collecting monthly government check.

I wish it was that easy but I work in construction and know the logistics make that all but impossible. You'd have to redo likely 50 acres of development. It's not feasible or profitable.

Buildings aren't the problem.

Grown men allowing this bullshite are.

It's time to stand. It's time to say enough. You have to hang some motherfrickers and scare the rest of the criminals.

They have to know if you do this to s young lady then your life is gone. It should be. That's how you fix BR and Nola

I have no idea how bad it is at Reggies...if they are not checking ID's at all, that is an issue. If kids are using fakes and getting away with it, I don't see how that is the bar's fault.

I'm sure they check ID's to get in diligently enough, but there is ZERO chance that they walk around the bar to make sure people with big black X's on their hand aren't drinking. It was like that 25 years ago when I frequented the place and I can't imagine that it has changed.

In your post immediately before this one you talked about hearing your grandfather's voice saying "If not you, then who." So which is it?

Even in my drunkest state I know not to let black girls get me in a car.
You've never been blackout then.

I had a ton of nights where I didn't know a fricking thing happened and there were stories about the shite I did the next day. I've been blackout before football games and made it home and never remembered a minute

You need to check yourself if you don't know what the frick you're talking about

is that is the case, she likely didn't buy drinks herself...

Question: if underage drinking is such a big deal to Tate and others, how can someone under the age of 21 get inside the building to begin with? Is it the law that allows people under 21 to get in?

Probably gonna get blasted for this, but I believe the deceased should share a little bit of the blame. It was her choices and her actions that put her in this position.

If you can’t control how much you drink, you need to be really careful about where you go, what you do, and who you surround yourself with. YES, the majority of the blame should fall on the men who she left with, they are clearly pieces of shite for what they did and deserve to be punished heavily, but I think that all of y’all who are absolving this girl from blame are a little shortsighted

Women are much more susceptible to rape. So, controlling how much you drink is on us, the girls? You can be stupefied drunk, no problem, no one is raping you,

I agree with all this. And you're right, not realistic.
Having said that, it just goes with the narrative that areas surrounding LSU need to be cleaned up. Areas around campus, athletic venues, and sites that LSU students and LSU visitors frequent.

My comment was directed towards EVERYONE, stop trying to make this about you and yourself a victim

Why are you so strange? Why are you talking about something that I didn’t even bring up while not addressing what my post was originally about?

Were you not getting enough attention in this thread or something?
