why is Gamma getting ripped to shreds and why will this not happen to Delta?
Basically Gamma is in an area of high wind shear. Delta is emerging into an area of low wind shear over the next 24-48 hours which is why it will strengthen.
NHC issues forecast discussions every 6 hours along with the forecast cone. They are several paragraphs long with great explanations and I’d recommend reading them for more detail.

How do we access the discussions? Never noticed that before.

TS Delta Discussion - 5am
I linked the update from this morning. They new one comes out at 10am CST.
On the NHC home page they have a section below the map for each active storm. They have links to Public Advisory, Forecast Graphics, Discussion, etc.

Good info
Local weather was showing water temps too and how that impacts Delta’s early development. Notice the warmer water temp up to the Cuba western tip and then water temp reduces in the gulf.

New advisory comes out at 10 AM CDT, not 10 AM CST.

Today I learned CST and CDT are different based on the time of year. Learn something new everyday.

IDK why but misuse of this annoys me.

Is this the longest thread in TD history?

If Gamma is gone and doesn’t mess with Delta does it still slingshot it straight north or will it allow Delta to continue to travel West into Texas?

If I'm not mistaken, Gamma is what pushes it NW
No interaction would make it turn N and E sooner, yes?

Landfall hasn't changed much but the overall track has been moving west.
NHS - 5 Day Cone Archive
Idk how to turn that into a gif and post.

The idea at this point would be for a Gamma interaction to induce a big jog west and then just have the storm get back on it's general heading. The turn won't be sooner with less interaction, it'll just be farther east when it does it.
Not sold on the lower intensity models, especially in the shorter range, because things look spicy from here into the southern Gulf.

Any of you down voter care to weigh in as to why questions bother you so much?

HWRF and HMON both initialized incorrectly. Throw their intensity out and wait until 12z. I think it’ll show a major on those two models
Wait a minute. Last night you threw out the Euro and GFS. Now, we're throwing out the HMON and HWRF? What the hell are we supposed to look at?

Same. It’s almost a blessing when Daylight Saving Time ends, so that people who say CST are actually correct.
