. I don't see why the NRA can't push for a few laws that make sense. At 18 you can't get a handgun but you can get an AR15. Push for more thorough background checks.

The NRA has pushed hard for enforcement of gun laws with stiff penalties. For anyone to say they haven't is either disingenuous or outright ignorant of that they have been doing.

How about we push for public servants to do their jobs for a change? What new background check would have changed this outcome when cops are called 39 times to deal with this person who had a gun to another's head? Even the coward deputy refused to give information to the state regarding if Cruz was a threat. No background check would have mattered when multiple agencies failed every step of the way.

What does the NRA really do for YOU?

They have pushed for right to carry. They also stand up against those who think the 2A is about shooting deer. They have implemented instructor's training classes, organized competitive shooting sports. The list goes on. I have yet to see a single so-called gun safety organization ever do that.

actually... abut that...

quote:

The NRA’s return-on-investment is formidable. The group had a 73.3 percent success rate by candidate in 2016—meaning nearly three-quarters of the time the NRA spent money for or against a candidate, it got its desired outcome. It’s also getting more efficient—its success rate when spending money on candidates has trended up since 2008 when it was only 43.6 percent.

2nd amendment: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

i'm all about it... but only in the context of the time period in which it was written... this amendment was written when muskets and single fire pistols were the guns you could get... let's go back to that... hard to commit mass murders when you can only fire one or two shots at a time....

i can understand hunting rifles, shotguns, pistols, revolvers, etc.... those can be deemed necessary for hunting, sport, self-defense, etc...

but semi-automatics, that can be retrofitted with bump stocks and extended mags? is it really THAT necessary to gun owners? i support the right to own guns, again, like the ones i pointed out, but do we really need firearms that have the ability to reek havoc in the wrong hands?

For this, I'm going to catch hell. Being 60, what I see that has lead young people down these paths are video games. I really feel that the games has desensitized many as younger kids when they should of never been playing those games.

Shut your whore mouth. Violent video games are fricking awesome. You ever played a nonviolent video game? They're awful, they're so awful I think they have a higher chance of making people violent
