By the way, for those of you who use RadarScope. The Tier 1 Pro subscription now allows you to change the color palettes of your radar products, and now shows watch boxes. These were formerly features available to only Tier 2 Pro subscribers.

Yeah. Winds preceded the front and slammed into us for 4-5 minutes then were gone. Glad I took the time to pick up loose lying objects in the back yard though. Had a few trampoline projectiles left in the street and in the pond.

The Storm Prediction Center mentioned this in their discussion this morning (for the enhanced risk area).
quote:
Damaging winds are viable with the strongest storms, but a tornado risk will exist as well, both with semi-discrete supercells and QLCS-related mesovortices. Furthermore, a couple of strong tornadoes could occur, particularly as southwesterly winds within the lowest 1-3 km AGL are expected to dramatically strengthen this afternoon, with a corresponding increase in SRH within the warm sector northward to near the warm front/triple point vicinity located across Louisiana.

That Nederland / Port Neches, TX rotation looks strong on regular radar. Anyone have the latest Radarscope image?

Thanks. NWS still saying radar indicated rotation so I guess it is not yet on the ground.

May have a TDS on the storm north fo Bridge City, TX, but the signature is a little displaced from the rotation on radar, so I can't tell for sure.

This is out of my area, but closing in fast. This storm has a tornado on the ground right now per radar data, and is moving in the general direction of DeQuincy, and eventually Beauregard Parish. This is a day you definitely want to pay attention to warnings. This storm is moving to the northeast.

Looks like it has weakened for now. NWS now says capable of producing a tornado.
